I've spent seven years in software development, five of those writing backends: a Rust gRPC gateway for a speech recognition service, a lot of C++ that was older than the teams looking after it, and Python tooling to enable non-coders to make more Python apps. Outside of that, I've been using Arch Linux as my main operating system for years, I run a small network connecting two houses and a rented server, so my family can use the services I selfhost without knowing there's a VPN involved, and I'm learning Go by writing a Bluesky client.
